Overview: The internship is a required component of an undergraduate or graduate studies program. This position allows a student to gain experience in one or more non-clinical roles. The experience and projects should be related the student’s field of study and support Intermountain Healthcare’s mission, vision and values. 
 • This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
 • The selected intern would begin as soon as possible in spring semester and end in April. This internship is part-time with hours that fall within the standard work day (8 am to 5 pm). 
• Hours can be flexible within that time frame throughout the week with the exception of Wednesday afternoon from 2-4. (During this time frame, the intern needs to be able to attend and participate in administration council meetings). 

Experiences available: 
1. Participates and is involved in a variety of learning projects: Works with the members of the team to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals.
2. Attends team / department meetings and actively participate / take on opportunities to share knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the meeting.
3. Gains knowledge of the department’s / facilities functions: 
May job shadow various roles within the department in order to understand their role in the organization. 
4. Project engagement: produces an outcome that meets school requirements and demonstrates operational abilities.  

Criteria for selection: 
1. Students in business and/or administrative fields (finance, marketing, HR, legal, business administration, public health and public policy), who are in an undergrad or Master’s program at an accredited institution. Education is verified. 
2. Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications. 
3. Experience using various social media tools and platforms. 
4. Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. 
5. Knowledge of the economics of health care delivery and challenges faced by the industry currently and projected for the future. 
 6. Knowledge of current labor market trends in the healthcare industry.
