Field Placement Specialist - Western Governors University

Job description

The Field Placement Specialist works in various capacities in setting up field placement activities for WGU students. This includes but is not limited to:
  1. Communicating with students, mentors, and site (district, school, clinic, hospital) personnel
  2. Setting up appropriate placements for the student’s program
  3. Working within computer systems to track placements
  4. Working within a team environment
  • Communicate with students, mentors, other WGU personnel, outside professionals, i.e., superintendents, principals, hospital administrators, etc.
  • Set up field placements that meet the requirements for various WGU programs
  • Distribute and maintain information regarding field placement
  • Work in a student relations management system
  • Review student progress to determine if audits are met
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as required
  • Exhibit professional conduct, interaction, and communication as a representative of the company and the department
  • Other assignments as needed including possible work with logistics staff

  • Strong public relations and communications abilities.
  • Must be able to work well under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with others
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • Prefer knowledge of placement policy and procedures
  • Some knowledge of WGU institutional policies
  • Some familiarity with contracts
  • Basic knowledge of hospital, clinic, district or school functions
