Talent Management Intern with jetBlue (Salt Lake City, UT)

Job Function: 
Human Resources

The Intern Talent Management is responsible for assisting with the execution of Talent programs including Performance Management, Succession Planning, Talent Software implementation and Internal Talent Movement. This position will provide support to the Talent Management team and internal customers to ensure our programs are successful in hiring, inspiring, growing and measuring our Talent.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Act as day-to-day support on Talent programs, including Performance Management, Succession Planning, Position Expectations and other Talent-related programs (25%)
  • Support Talent Management team with implementation of new Talent Management Suite, including training, data preparation and communications (25%)
  • Assist with development and execution of JetBlue’s College Crew and Internship programs (15%)
  • Participate in company-wide goal setting program to ensure all Salaried Crewmembers have document goals in system (10%)
  • Develop material to support current and new Talent programs (i.e. workflows, job aids, forms, presentations) (10%)
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests and partner with Compliance, Crew Relations, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, People Analytics and Engagement, and Organizational Effectiveness to ensure alignment with Talent Management and People programs (10%)
  • Research and recommend “best practice” approaches to administer and revise our talent programs (5%)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related field
  • One (1) to three (3) years Business and/or Human Resources experience
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Attention to detail in composing and creating reports and metric data
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Business, HR or I/O or S/O Psychology preferred
  • Experience organizing/coordinating multiple projects while providing exceptional customer service
  • Interacting daily with people at different levels within the organization, including developing and maintaining ongoing relationships
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, SAP, and People Fluent
  • Providing high-quality customer service in a matrix structure with a commitment to meeting or exceeding expectations
  • Knowledge of Talent Management concepts including Performance Management, Succession Planning, Competency Management and Change Management

Supervision Received:
Receives general instructions on what is to be done, limitations, quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments from Crewleader/Teamleader.  Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction but receives additional specific instructions from Crewleader/Teamleader for new, difficult, or special projects/assignments

Supervisory Duties:
No supervisory responsibility

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
