Corporate HR Manager with Alsco (Salt Lake City, UT)

Corporate HR Manager

Job Summary:
The Corporate HR Manager develops and provides HR related training and support to branches in North America. Reports to the Director of HR. This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Essential Functions:
  • Create and maintain job descriptions.
  • Review and maintain HR Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Update Employee Handbooks as needed.
  • Maintain the GO Affirmative Action Program, including HR support to the GO.
  • Perform branch HR audits on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate with and provide assistance to a branch or its Regional HR Manager.
  • Set up and administer training and development programs for branches through webinars, on-site visits, consultation, mentoring, or other methods.
  • Assist in the GM Training Program, HR training programs, and in strategic planning.
  • Administer labor law posters, plan and coordinate national HR meetings, and maintain the HR areas of the company internet and intranet websites.
  • Develop programs as assigned that impact policy and practice on a company level. Participate in interdepartmental projects or initiatives.
Additional Functions:
  • May work with and support other HR personnel or functions as required by supervision.
  • College degree in Business or equivalent related work experience.
  • Have a working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, as well as an HR Generalist’s ability and experience in applying HR principles to real world situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to comprehend and follow direction, as well as good time management skills and be a team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • Physical Demands/Requirements consist of standing, sitting, walking, stooping, driving, grasping, moving equipment, pushing, pulling, reading, speaking, hearing, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
Typical Environmental Conditions:
  • Operating vehicles on public roads, traveling by commercial plane, working in typical indoor offices, and all areas of a typical industrial laundry.
Travel Requirements:
  • Frequently at 30-50% of the time, driving by vehicle or traveling by plane.
