Training Manager with OrangeSoda (American Fork, UT)


Description

SUMMARY: This role is responsible for the design, development, coordination, delivery, and management of training programs across the company. In addition, this role will participate in other People Services initiatives, such as talent development, succession planning, and performance management. The role requires significant cross- functional collaboration with the HR team, IT, Operations, and other necessary teams. The ideal candidate for this position will have a successful track record as a professional trainer, as well as experience tracking and communicating the ROI of training efforts and programs. This person will be considered the resident training expert.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§  Develop effective new hire training and on-boarding program that will enable new employees to learn and perform their jobs quickly and efficiently
§  Develop on-going professional development training programs for existing employees, according to the vision set forth by executive management
§  Set company-wide training initiatives that address the strengths, weaknesses, talent levels, skill gaps and development needs for employees at every level
§  Maintain all training programs
§  Work with employees individually to develop IDP’s for career development
§  Work with Staffing Coordinator to create Career Path’s to be used for recruiting, as well as for employee IDP’s
§  Establish appropriate learning modules (e.g., classroom, simulation, webinars, intact teams, action learning) to maximize training access and effectiveness
§  Lead the development of training content by partnering with internal and external subject matter experts, internal stakeholders, vendors, and other resources to ensure that core competencies are being met
§  Conduct needs analysis to define strategic performance requirements to drive annual training plans, logistics, and budget
§  Implement training ROI and metrics system (e.g., cost, business results, participation, skill development) to ensure the company maximizes its training investment
§  Evaluate training effectiveness
§  Contribute to best practices efforts across the People Services organization

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

QUALIFICATIONS:
§  Excellent written, oral and positive interpersonal skills required
§  Ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical terms
§  Proven experience in curriculum development, developing training materials and evaluating third party training resources
§  Strong skills in coaching managers and high-performance leaders
§  Energy, enthusiasm and a self-starter attitude are required
§  Superb presentation and training delivery skills
§  Solid project management and execution skills
§  Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
§  Web-based training program implementation/management experience
§  Detail orientation and analytical approach
§  Experience training all levels of employees
§  Strong consultative skills with the ability to partner with all levels of the organization, especially senior leadership

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
§  Minimum 2-3 years of full-time training delivery experience, with at least 1 year in a training managerial role
§  BS/BA Degree or work equivalent

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Fluent verbal and written English

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individuals will sit for the majority of the day in an office chair, viewing a computer screen and typing on a keyboard while using a mouse. Responsibilities may require walking within the office to utilize administrative materials and to coordinate with co-workers, also will require some reaching or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required.  Individual must be able to lift 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The office contains ambient room temperatures, moderate noise levels, overhead lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
