Position Description:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs, and monitors functions within employee benefits, personnel policies and regulatory compliance. Provides administrative support to human resources function as needed (e.g. correspondence generation, record keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry). Performs other HR generalist duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handles employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting.
  • Assists with policy development and documentation.
  • Develops HR solutions by collecting and analyzing information; recommendin courses
  • Assists with preparation of annual affirmative action plan.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Maintains employee handbook with updated resolutions and other pertinent information, as needed.
  • Assist HR Manager with special projects/assignments as needed.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising on actions.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in a corporate HR setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas and exhibit willingness to try new things.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow, use time efficiently and operate under immense pressure.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of insurance regulations, plan designs and third party record keeping/administration required.
  • Must have computer skills and the ability to learn HRIS system (ADP)
  • Able to design, develop, coordinate and implement training programs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Superior verbal/written skills.
  • Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must.
  • Outstanding work ethic, sense of humor, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required.
