Position Summary:

This position provides support, assistance and analysis in the areas of human resources (benefits, compensation, employee relations, employment, recruitment, and training). The incumbent assists in providing support to hospital departments. Works as a team member in determining departmental needs and serves as a resource for departments regarding human resource and training functions.

This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.

Essential Functions:

- Maintains confidentiality when working with employee files and sensitive information.
- Assists in developing, preparing and updating human resource transactions and reports.
- Works in collaboration with consultants, analysts, and other human resource specialists to complete daily tasks and projects in a professional and responsive manner.
- Provides general office support such as greeting and directing visitors, handling incoming phone calls, and may be responsible for coordinating travel arrangements and ordering supplies.
- Maintains data in human resources information systems.
- Assists applicants and employees in system processes.
- May be responsible for payroll and timekeeping responsibilities.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
- Understanding of human resource procedures, practices, policies and laws.
- Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.
- The incumbent is required to respond and manage sensitive and confidential situations in a professional manner.
- Representative challenges encountered by this position include appropriately handling controversial or sensitive employee relation issues and dealing with applicants.
- The incumbent is required to remain current on new and changing human resource laws and ensures compliance with human resource policy, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks received from multiple staff members and determines the order of importance.
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment, multi task requests, and adapt quickly to process and procedures.
