Description

Why not join a company where your interests can drive our innovation?
Growth. Performance. Success. FULFILLED
There’s a way. As America’s most convenient provider of consumer goods and services, and pharmacy, health and wellness services, Walgreens has something for everyone who wants to build a successful career. With over 7,500 locations in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, we’re much more than your neighborhood drug store. Our mission is to be the most trusted multichannel provider and advisor of innovative pharmacy, health and wellness solutions, consumer goods, and convenient services in communities across America. A destination where health and happiness come together to help people manage well, get well, stay well and live well. Here, you’ll find supportive co-workers, an innovative environment and the tools you need to grow your skills, help build healthy communities and advance your career.
From the days when Charles R. Walgreen Sr. founded his first drugstore in 1901, our forward-thinking vision and commitment to values have helped this great company become an industry leader and a household name. In mid-2008, we began the largest transformation in our company’s history by taking a closer look at where we were and where we wanted to be. Over the previous decade, we had evolved beyond a retail-only company by acquiring new businesses. This required a new direction where our new family of companies can share one vision: To be “My Walgreens” for everyone in America. By reaching all our customers and patients in a personal way, we can offer individualized service from a national drugstore chain. Moving forward, we must align our culture and values of mutual respect, ethical behavior and commitment with our vision. These values are part of why we’re one of the most admired, respected, and long-lasting companies in America.
Our Mission: Our mission is the never-ending pursuit of better ways to manage the flow of merchandise from our suppliers to our customers. We will look for ways to improve in everything we do. We require relevant measures to help us identify our successes and opportunities. We work to improve our methods and seek to provide an environment that brings out the best in our people. In our dealings with others we actively seek opportunities of mutual benefit. The customer is part of every major decision and in everything we do.
Program Description: As an HR intern with Walgreens Distribution Center, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of HR areas including recruitment, benefits, training, safety, employee relations and more. This internship exposes you to work and learn in a team environment with experienced HR professionals in support of Walgreens mission and values.
Our interns will contribute daily to our HR objectives and become an integral part of our team. To ensure a supportive environment our DC Human Resources Manager will act as a mentor, making sure you are fully involved and satisfied with your internship experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Interact on the Distribution Center floor with Team Members and Management, learning to do the jobs involved in each step
  • Attend daily meetings and team-member involvement sessions
  • Participate in training sessions and recruiting efforts
  • Shadow members of the Human Resources team and get involved with Employee Relations, Benefits, and safety
  • Integrate all you’ve seen, heard and experienced as well as contribute to the success of the HR team through project work

A career at Walgreens offers you the potential for growth and a clear path to advancement. Take your first step towards a fulfilling career.
